Once a year our club takes an out of state trip. Last year was to the Ouray, Colorado area and everybody loved it so much we decided to do another Colorado trip this year only moving to the Gunnison & Buena Vista areas.
Mandi and I decided to get an extra days head start. Along the way we popped into Yankum Ropes in Burley, ID where I bought Mandi her own recovery rope, as she had gifted me a Matt’s Off-Road Recovery Rope made by Yankum for Christmas.
It turns out we needed it, as I lost/broke my front driveshaft rolling through Salt Lake City (extremely rough freeway). Somehow I limped it to Price UT to out hotel, and called in a Hail Mary from Rory Irish at Moab MotorSports. We ended up spending the weekend in Moab, as Rory & his team were out of town (ironically in Colorado), and they got us fixed up before lunch on Monday and we were back on our way to Colorado.
The Double Cardone left the trip… Anyway we were only a day behind and missed the first two trails (warm-ups), and Mandi got the opportunity to pick-up a Jeep Badge of Honor trail (Top Of The World) while we were in Moab, so other than the added expense it was a win in our book!
The images below show some of the Moab images, Stay tuned for the Colorado Pics in an upcoming post…
Enjoy!
