So after a nice visit with family friends etc, it’s now time to get home, Mandi will fly out of Pittsburgh, PA, While I jump on my bike and ride home some 2400 miles. I will be covering some ground but taking it easy too when possible.
My proposed route back to the house was to be as follows,;
9/2 Warsaw, IN
9/3 Wisconsin Dells, WI
9/4 Alexandria, MN
9/5 Dickinson, ND
9/6 Butte, MT
9/7 Kennewick, WA
But all well layed plans… Yeah I got switched up a bit here or there but made it home in 7 days. My first day got me to Val Paraiso IN, Day two took me through Rantoul IL where I went to fire school in the USAF (Chanute AFB – no longer), and on to rest the night in Tomah, WI. I had decided that I-94 would be my route, as I hadn’t ridden in ever on a bike, nor had I been up that way for about 20 years. IT was a good choice, the country is beautiful up north.
Day four got me to Fargo ND, like I mentioned 20 years ago the place was desolate, now it’s huge and still growing. Day five found me stopping for the night in Glendive MT. Day six got me Helena MT, after dodging storms for a couple days I’m just gonna push through and get wet, it’s time to be home. It was a great ride that tacked on some 5000+ miles…
