The plan for the day is get from Centerville, IA to Lebanon, IN only 373 miles, and almost 5 hours ride time.
I had breakfast at really the only place in town according to the locals, Gordie’s Bar & Grill good food, and nice company… Yeah, I might’ve killed a few bugs getting in last night. I hate a dirty bike!
Road out through the meandering hills (still no people) and might have seen a Bald Eagle get taken out by a truck but we’ll have to wait for video to be sure.
I got to Burlington, I’m thinking Car Wash (which should be the last thing on my mind), gotta get the bugs off… Shazam they have one and bam the bike is happy and Blue again! Speaking of blue, I wonder if there’s a Harley dealership around? Lo and behold Burlington has a Harley Dealership, and they had blue shirts, yeah I did! And it’s a good place for a break and start writing this story for the day…
Down the road a bit I came across a stranded lady with a flat, took me a second to come out of hyper drive, but I got spun around and changed her tire just in time for her husband to arrive, they were thankful and I only lost 20 minutes. Sorry no pic or video, although in retrospect next time I’ll at least video…
Another tank down and it’s dinner time in Illinois, so I found a quaint lil truck stop with a diner. As luck would have it I’m dining with Marilyn and Elvis… I only have less than 140 miles left today so this tank should get me there. I wonder if the Quality Inn in Lebanon will equate with last night’s hotel?
I made it to the Quality Inn just after night fall, apparently I forgot about a third time zone change, that’s what happens when you’re having fun…
Below you can see today’s route mapped out…
